AI Cheque Processing and Signature Verification
AI-assisted cheque reading and verification, including signature comparison, amount validation, date and validity checks, MICR analysis, alteration detection and Positive Pay verification where applicable.
- Signature comparison
- Amount validation
- Date & validity
- MICR analysis
- Alteration detection
- Positive Pay
Why now
Faster clearing needs faster, more reliable checks
Under the Cheque Truncation System (CTS), cheques clear as images rather than paper. RBI’s move to continuous clearing in CTS from October 2025 shortens the time banks have to verify each cheque.
Manual checking of signatures, amounts, dates and alterations does not scale to that pace. AI assistance helps operations teams verify more cheques, more consistently, and focus human attention on the exceptions.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How does AI help in cheque processing?
AI reads the cheque image, extracts fields such as amount, date and account details, compares the signature against reference signatures, checks for alterations and validates the cheque against rules, so staff can focus on exceptions.
What is Positive Pay verification?
Positive Pay is an RBI mechanism where the account holder shares key details of a high-value cheque in advance, and the bank checks the presented cheque against them. The platform supports Positive Pay verification where applicable.
Can it detect cheque alterations?
Alteration detection is one of the checks the platform performs as part of AI-assisted cheque verification.
Does it work with CTS?
The platform works on cheque images and is designed to integrate with the bank’s existing systems and workflows. Talk to us about your CTS and clearing setup.
